3M Industrial Community Terms of Use

Your access to and use of the 3M Industrial Community site and its materials (collectively the “Site”) is conditioned upon your acceptance of and compliance with the following terms and conditions, along with any additional terms and conditions referenced herein or presented on the Site (collectively the “Terms of Use”). If you do not accept these Terms of Use, which are subject to change at any time, you should leave the Site immediately and cease any further use of all materials obtained from the Site.

4. Supplemental Site Provisions:

A. Purpose. The Site is intended to be a forum for US-based engineers to obtain, exchange, and discuss information and questions concerning a variety of bonding and adhesion circumstances and solutions.

B. Be Respectful. Please be polite and treat everyone with respect, including other Site participants, 3M, 3M employees, Site moderators, and Site administrators. Offensive, aggressive, and disrespectful content and users are not permitted and will be barred or removed.

C. Posting Content. Do not post or share on the Site any of the following: (i) content unless it is accurate, not misleading, and you have the right and all necessary permissions to do so, including under applicable copyrights, patents, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights; (ii) personally identifiable information such as email/physical address, phone numbers, login credentials, and any other private information; (iii) your, your employer’s, or any third party’s proprietary or confidential data or information; (iv) anything that contains a computer virus, worm, or other potentially damaging computer program or file; (v) anything that may reasonably be considered defamatory, libelous, hateful, racially or religiously biased or offensive, threatening, or harassing; or (vi) anything that would violate any applicable law or contractual agreement. By posting on the Site, you grant 3M a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, fully paid, non-exclusive, worldwide, transferable right and license to display, use, copy, modify, adapt, delete, publish, perform, translate, create derivative works from, sell, sublicense, distribute, and otherwise use and exploit content you post or share on the Site in any form, medium, or technology throughout the world without restriction or compensation to you.

D. Appropriate Disclosures. When posting or sharing on the Site, be sure to appropriately disclose all relevant material connections. For example, 3M employees must identify themselves as such, including by using the hashtag: #3Mer.

E. Posted Content. Site content comes from a variety of sources, including from Site participants. Opinions expressed by Site participants are those of their authors and not necessarily of 3M. 3M makes no representations or warranties as to the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of content submitted by Site participants. 3M is not liable for any website links posted within the Site discussion areas. Such website links may point to sites not administered by 3M and are used at your sole risk. 3M is not liable for any errors or delays in the content or transmission of postings on the Site.

F. Moderator Rights. 3M and its Site moderators and administrators reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to edit, move, block, or delete any content, posting, message, signature, image, or user deemed to be illegal, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate for inclusion in the Site. G. Product Information, Selection, and Use. The Site may provide 3M product information, including technical information, specifications, recommendations, literature, and other materials (collectively “Product Information”) for your convenience in your selection of products. The accuracy or completeness of Product Information is not guaranteed and is subject to change without notice. No license under any 3M or third party intellectual property rights is granted or implied with this Product Information. You are solely responsible for evaluating and selecting products and determining whether each product is fit for a particular purpose and suitable for your use and method of application. Products are not manufactured to any customer requirements or specifications unless expressly agreed to in writing by 3M. Products that are sold for your use or consumption may not be repackaged, resold, or redistributed in any manner without 3M’s prior written consent.

H. Email Contact. By submitting your email address to the Site, you authorize 3M and its third-party service providers to use your email address to contact you about the Site and for other related business and marketing purposes.

I. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution. Minnesota law, without regard to conflicts of laws principles, shall exclusively govern access to and use of the Site. All claims and disputes arising from or relating to the Site and these Terms of Use must be resolved exclusively through the following dispute resolution processes: (a) good faith negotiations between duly authorized representatives of you and 3M conducted within 90 days of a request for negotiations; (b) if necessary, non-binding mediation before a neutral mediator jointly selected and paid for by you ad 3M within 120 days of a request for mediation at a location acceptable to both you and 3M; and (c) as a last resort, litigation. The state or federal court located within Ramsey County, Minnesota shall be the sole and exclusive jurisdiction and venue for any litigation between you and 3M. You agree to submit to the jurisdiction of such court in the event of any litigation. Nothing in this section will preclude either party from taking other legal action to the extent necessary to prevent immediate, irreparable harm to that party’s interests, subject to the stated venue requirements.
