For tamper evident labels, we have two categories. The first is a destructible facestock where the film tears and fractures upon attempted removal. 3812 is one product with a destructible facestock. The second is a VOID label which leaves a visible VOID lettering on the label area if lifted. The VOID lettering is still visible even if the label is reapplied. FMV02 is one example of a VOID label.
For destructible labels, it’s critical the label is applied with firm pressure to create a strong bond with the substrate. Ideally, a 24 hour dwell before attempted removal would allow time for the bond strength to develop. Substrates in each application should be evaluated to ensure proper adhesion and performance of any tamper evident labels.
