Pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) tapes are a convenient and flexible manufacturing solution that excels at bonding dissimilar materials. They allow for a consistent amount of adhesive without drips, oozing, overspray or associated mess, enabling a thin clean bond line. You can assemble parts at multiple locations. For example, your metal supplier can attach the tape to the stainless steel trim, and then you can do the final assembly at your location. PSAs are extremely easy to use, and in most cases it’s as simple as removing the liner and placing the two parts in contact with moderate pressure. It’s as simple as peel and stick. Since they are already cured, they achieve handling strength in most applications within seconds and can be moved on to the next operation. They are quick, clean, flexible and efficient when it comes to bonding trim. PSAs work best with clean, flat, well-mated parts. For bonding stainless steel to ABS, we would suggest evaluating our 300LSE adhesive family of products.
