Hi 3M Community,
I am looking for an adhesive sheet that can be placed on the sole of the shoe (especially expensive ones that you wear on special occasions which u do not want any wear & tear or for it to get dirty). It should have some form of friction on the other side, thin enough to mold to the shape of the sole (perhaps with a heatgun) and can be removed without leaving any glue residue. I was thinking maybe a thin silicone sheet or something similar. There are some products (e.g. soleshields) currently out there but they are vinyl sheets that require you to add friction pads on top of it.
Thanks for the question. This sounds like an interesting application, but unfortunately I am not aware of any 3M materials intended or appropriate for this application. While there are adhesives that likely can bond to shoe soles, they typically require a permanent bond and are for industrial/occupational use only. If you are interested in such permanent bonding solutions, comment below and we can discuss in more detail.
