When my puppies play hard, they jump on my sofa & the original velcro from sofa manufacturer comes unstuck. Then the sofa cushions become the puppies play toy & they chew on them.
I obtained the manufacturer’s velcro. Now I need an adhesive that will work to glue the velcro to fabric.
The flat side of the velcro is kind of like a rough nylon/plastic, maybe polyurethane.
The fabric is probably a cotton, maybe with some polyester, kind of like a soft canvas, not too rough, but definitely more porous than the back of the velcro. The bulk of the sofa is leather, but the side of pillow toward the body of sofa is basic fabric.
Do you know of an adhesive that will work on both the fabric and the rough back of the velcro??
Thanks for your input!!
Hi Julie,
Thanks for the question. When adhering to fabrics there are a couple of directions you could go. One option to try would be:
3M™ Double Coated Tape 9832, https://3m.citrination.com/pif/000296?locale=en-US
This is a pressure sensitive adhesive that adheres to porous materials such as “a wide variety of substrates, including many foams, plastics, foil, and felt.”
